Teacher
Katie (M.K.) Rainey is a teaching artist and the Executive Director of the Teaching Artists Guild (TAG). With over 15 years of experience, she has taught creative writing, theatre, media arts, English as a second language, and filmmaking around the world.
As a facilitator, Katie leads classes and workshops for students of all ages, focusing on social-emotional learning, curriculum development, career growth, creative arts practices, and more.
An advocate for arts education, she served as co-chair of the NYC Arts in Education Roundtable Teaching Artist Affairs Committee and now continues that advocacy work via TAG.
In arts education administration, Katie participated in the 2018 New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) Emerging Leaders Boot Camp. She has held roles such as Director of Communications at Creative Generation, Director of Community-Word Project’s Teaching Artist Project (TAP), and Project Manager of the International Teaching Artist Collaborative’s EDEN Project.
Currently, she teaches with the Arkansas Arts Council in Little Rock.
